Details
One of the few religious texts attributed to a woman — the Magnificat, sung when the virgin Mary learned she would be bearing a child — is also the most frequently-set text in Western music, numbering in the tens of thousands. Timothy J. Krueger and the St. Martin's Chamber Choir present a varied selection of Magnificats from Gregorian chant to the present, along with other related works — a tribute to one mother as an icon for all mothers.
